ADHE KANGAL REVIEW
Cast: Kalaiyarasan, Janani Iyer,
Sshivada, Bala
Music: Ghibran
Direction: Rohin Venkatesan
Adhe Kangal, the directional debut of Rohin Venkatesan is a
romantic thriller movie about a blind chef portrayed by Kalaiyarasan who get
his vision back after an accident and he has is a vague mystery to solve. The
story is solid but the screenplay lets down the engaging factor, especially
towards interval.
Kalaiyarasan’s performance is more relatable to the audience. His
looks and his body language are not like a hero, but a common man which is
enjoyable. Sshivada’s character and acting is best till date in her career. Janani Iyer’s screen
space is less, thus no great performance. Bala’s comedy is the high points of
the film. Double meaning jokes or the one line punches are only a part of
humour. Humour in body language is always regarded as the best and Bala’s
comedy falls into the later.
The songs by Ghibran is supporting the film but does not leave
impression on the audience. The background music in the first half is not
worthy, but the music throughout the second half binds the audience to the
film.
Since this is a thriller film, a piece of information is hidden
from the audience to build curiosity. But it
is hold for too long that the
suspense is predicted along with a few twists. The hair rising moment is when
the suspense is revealed, but since it is predicted the film does not make a
great impact.
Verdict: Watchable thriller, neither too bad nor too good.
