Bhairavaa, Vijay’s second collaboration with Bharhathan after an average film, Azhagiya Tamil Magan came as a shock to many, yet creating curiosity about it. The movie starts with a regular hero parasail dialogue followed by the hero introduction and then a fight sequence. The film has a pre structured screenplay, director has to just fit the story to the structure. The plot revolves around a social message which does not leave any impact.

Vijay’s looks has always been the guy next door, but the hair wig alienate him. Except the artificial look, his performance is commendable as he is the one man who makes this watchable. The coin trick he does is eye catching. Vijay songs usually are electrifying that creates a energetic environment in the theatre, but Bhairavaa songs creates a wearisome environment. Even though songs supress Vijay’s dance moves, his small move in ‘Nillayoo’ song is adorable. Vijay’s potential is wasted in the film.

Keethy Suresh, Jagabathi Babu, Daniel Balaji are under utilized. When it’s a commercial film, the hero-villain rivalry adds spice to the film. Bhairavaa’s biggest setback is the poor hero-villain rivalry. The stunt sequence are brilliantly choreographed, especially the first fight( cricket fight) and the interval block fight. The graphics is very poor at a few places. The cinematography by Sukumar is a highlight to the film.

The songs are below average and background score is no less to the songs.’ Varlam va Varlam va’ track is catchy and only background saving certain scenes. Some dialogues are sensible but most dialogues are mundane, especially dialogues comparing hero to deity. The humour scarcely works throughout the film.

Verdict: An old wine in an old bottle.

Arjun Reddy Review

Cast: Vijay Deverakonda, Shalini, Rahul Ramakrishna, Music: Radhan Direction: Sandeep Vanga When the film gets over and while you walk out of the theatre have you heard a few people saying “It’s a normal same old story” (No one did for this film). Arjun Reddy is such a film with same old story. Arjun Reddy (played by Vijay Deverakonda, about whom I will talk in a while) is a topper in his medical college and a short tempered guy with zero anger management. He meets a first year girl, Preethi (played by Shalini) and they fall in love. What happens to Arjun after his love failure is what explored in a unique way. So this not a film that you can expect every year. This is a film that has a beautiful narration enthralling you for 3 hours. Cast: Varun Dawan, Banita Sandhu, Gitanjali Rao Music: Shantanu Moitra Written by: Juhi Chaturvedi Direction: Shoojit Sircar Love, one of the trickiest emotion and often showed in a clichéd manner is so refreshing in this film. Juhi Chaturvedi has written a beautiful story about love and with Shoojith Sircar’s elegant direction, October is a heart-warming film. Danish Walia(played by Varun Dawan), called ‘Dan’, is a hotel management internee at a five star hotel.   His co-worker, Shiuli Iyer(played by Banita Sandhu), accidentally falls off from 30 feet height. Shiuli Iyer slips into coma and Dan’s character undergoes a transformation. Dan has temperament issues, while working as internee and later he becomes mature.
