Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Angamaly dairies opens with a
energetic song visualizing the foods of the city Angamaly, from raw meat to a
full cooked meal, arousing hunger. It’s better you watch it with a popcorn or
any eateries. Every scene food finds its
place in the screen making it a inevitable property in the film. Also, the
story revolves around money minting pork business as Angamaly pork is famous in the surrounding places.
Vincent Pepe ( played by Antony Varghese) is a proud Angamalian who inspired by
Babuji, a riotous person, wants to form a team like his. The team is formed,
first fight is done and they start pork business. Ravi (Sarath Kumar) and Rajan
(Tito Wilson) are rogues in Angamaly, whose arrogant performance brings shiver
in you.
The film has a lot of characters and the director stands out
in characterizing them so as to make an impact. Even a person who comes for a
few minutes makes an everlasting impact. The great characterization coupled
with brilliant acting makes the film authentic.
Most might be offended by the beautiful visuals of the
foods, but cinematographer needs a applause for capturing raw meat which is not
provoking. The single shot spanning for around 15 minutes in the climax is just
breath taking. The cinematographer walks you through the streets of Angamaly.
Prashant Pillai’s songs, a monotonous tune with powerful
voices, suits the movie and enjoyable. A fight has a background score of the instrumental
version of “Illamai itho itho” song is just an example for the brilliant
background score throughout the movie.
Verdict: It’s a vacation to Angamaly.
